Call Center in Bogalusa to Create 300 Jobs
The Washington Parish community of Bogalusa will gain a new industry when Service Zone Inc. locates its 300-job computer phone-service center in the Bogalusa Industrial Park. The center will serve as support for Service Zone’s PC-maker clients. Around-the-clock shifts of professionals will assist computer users across the country. The company predicts as many as 600 jobs will ultimately by created at the Bogalusa center.

Biomedical Research Foundation’s InterTech Gains Second Tenant
The Biomedical Research Foundation of Northwest Louisiana has announced its second tenant to locate in its InterTech research and development park. A new Shreveport orthopedics company will produce orthopedic medical devices for uses in fracture management and sports medicine at the park. Orthoevolution Inc. will hire 200 people within seven years.

Pipe Maker Builds in Louisiana
Diamond Plastics Corp. has begun construction of a $7 million plant that will make pipe for agricultural irrigation, sewers, and municipal water systems. The site is on the West Baton Rouge/Iberville Parish line, next to the complex under construction by plastics producer Shintech Inc. Diamond, which will use Shintech products in its production, is buying 50 acres from Shintech to build its plant. The Diamond plant will employ 50 people.
