Lexington County to Gain 260 New Jobs
Pirelli Cables and Systems North America will expand its Lexington County facility and construct a new facility in the Columbia Airport Enterprise Park. The fiber optic cable manufacturer plans the $83.5 million expansion as part of Pirelli’s strategy to meet the demand for fiber optic cable products. Pirelli will hire 260 new employees.

Kronotex USA to Locate $110 Million Facility in Barnwell County
Kronotex USA, a Krono Group of Switzerland company, will locate a $110 million facility in Barnwell County that will create 125 new jobs. This is the company’s first facility in the U.S. The Swiss Holding company produces wood products for commercial and residential use such as: particleboard, medium density fiberboard, oriented strand board, melamine face board, laminate flooring, shelving, wall paneling, work surfaces, and other value-added products.

Cisco Systems Expands its West Columbia Facility
Cisco Systems, a provider of networking solutions for the Internet, will add 80 new jobs to its newly leased property in West Columbia. Cisco’s expansion in South Carolina is tied to its acquisition of Pirelli Optical Systems last year. The expansion represents a $30 million investment in the state by Cisco. The company will increase its leased space to 160,000 square feet at the facility on the NCR campus adjacent to the Columbia Metropolitan Airport.
