AOL Plans $555 Million Tech Center in Prince William County
America Online is expanding its operations in Virginia. Dulles-based AOL is building a second tech center in Prince William County and will expand its Loudoun County headquarters. The new $555 million technology center will be in Gainesville. Construction has already begun, and will be completed by 2002. The operation will bring 125 new jobs to Prince William County.

Teleglobe to Add 200 Jobs, Relocate HQ
Teleglobe, recently acquired by the largest telecom company in Canada, Bell Canada Enterprises, will undergo an expansion of 200 employees to its 800-person workforce in Reston. The company will also move its corporate headquarters from Montreal to Reston. Bell Canada will use Teleglobe to capitalize on broadband markets in the U.S. and elsewhere. Teleglobe currently provides Internet services to 60,000 businesses. Bell Canada plans for Teleglobe to build data centers around the country. These data centers, warehouses filled with servers that route voice and Internet data around the globe, have become lucrative ventures for telecom firms.

General Dynamics Adds 400 Jobs in Prince William
General Dynamics will add 400 jobs to its Prince William County operations. The defense contractor will locate the jobs at the former Incredible Universe building. The $20 million project will house General Dynamics Land Systems. GDLS designs and builds land and amphibious combat systems for the U.S. Army, the U.S. Marine Corps and a number of American allies.
