What
does the Rural South offer to locating industry? Plenty,
if you find the right location. Many of the South's rural
counties -- there are more than 1,000 of them -- are as
prepared for your plant, warehouse, back office or distribution
facility as any major market can be. In fact, there are
rural counties in the South more prepared and attractive
than some of the South's larger markets. It simply depends
on what you are looking for.
If
what you are looking for centers on low-cost available buildings
and land in less congested areas of the world's most attractive
region to conduct business, then this edition is for you.
If a work ethic that's second-to-none is important, no doubt
this edition will help you in your site search. If you would
rather work with officials during your site search who will
bend over backwards to accommodate your deal, contact the
folks found in this supplement. They will indeed do that
for you. And finally, if incentives are important, you cannot
find more attractive incentives than those that can be secured
when selecting a rural South location. If those items are
important to you in your site search, this edition should
be of great value.
By
studying this edition profiling selected sites and opportunities
in the rural South, you will be introduced to the South's
most dynamic rural counties and regions. We'll be the first
to admit that not all rural areas of the South are attractive
to industry. Many are simply not prepared at all for your
company. That's where this annual section on the Rural American
South comes in handy. We have selected and featured rural
counties that can accommodate your deal. The rural counties
and regions found in the following section have made the
necessary investment in infrastructure, worker training
and real estate to indulge you and your company. Quite simply
they are the cream-of-the-crop rural communities in the
South.
NOTE:
This year's Rural American South edition is broken into
two parts. This edition focuses on the western half of the
rural South. States included in this edition are Arkansas,
Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.
The winter edition focused on rural sites and opportunities
in the eastern half of the South. Those states were Alabama,
Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, South
Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
