Crane Aerospace to Open a Parts Center in Wichita

Aerospace supply company Crane Aerospace will open a distribution center in Wichita by early next year. The concept of the 9,200-square-foot center will be different from most aerospace parts centers, in that open shelves will be stocked with parts, and aviation customers can take selections to checkout. Most of the parts will be aircraft braking systems. One reason for the new style of parts service, is that an increasing number of manufacturers are demanding that subcontractors be able to quickly supply the parts that are needed by customers. The system also cuts the cost of parts inventory to the manufacturer.
