Brings 1,000 Jobs to Houston
WorldCom
is creating 1,000 jobs with a customer care center in Houston.
The company is reconfiguring approximately 95,000 square
feet of space at Aldine-Westfield. The project will have
an estimated annual economic impact of $136.2 million. WorldCom
provides communications, outsourcing and managed network
services to corporations around the world.
Waste
Management to Add 600 Jobs to Houston Headquarters
Waste
Management is adding 600 jobs to bring its corporate Houston
headquarters employment to 900 by the end of 2001. The expansion
includes relocating corporate jobs from Oakbrook, Illinois.
To accommodate the growth, Waste Management has added 186,000
square feet of space the company occupies in Houston.
Nationwide
to Hire 400 People in San Antonio
Property-casualty
insurance company Nationwide will open a national call claim
center in San Antonio. This will be the third call center
for Nationwide, with the other two located in Gainesville,
Florida and Columbus, Ohio. The San Antonio call center
will employ 400.
